ON THURSDAY DEC 15, 2011, THE SENATE PASSED BILL C-18 WITHOUT ANY AMENDMENTS.  IT IS CLEAR TO US THAT PRIME MINISER STEPHEN HARPER HAS WHIPPED THE SENATE AS WELL AS THE HOUSE.

This should concern all Canadian Citizens.  The senate is supposed to be the house of "sober second thought" yet no sober second thought has occurred.  There are many Senators and MP's that have fought with us and heard from us, even some on the Conservative side that said they would NOT support this bill but then DID.  Our government needs to be heald accountable.

On December 6, 2011 the Friends of the CWB WON a court battle which made clear that implementing Bill C-18 without the consent of farmers (Section 47.1 of the CWB Act) was unlawful.   The government and Ag Minister Ritz has decided to appeal the decision rather than confronting farmers with the truth.

Please read up on this issue and support us in our continued legal battle to allow farmers the VOTE that they deserve.

Investors confirm what CWB supporters have known all along.  Small farmers are unlikely to survive in a "voluntary" market.  An article from Potash News from Oct. 20, 2011 exposes what farmers will dread and marketting companies will enjoy:  "The outcome of Canadian wheat farmers in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba sell...

Welcome

Welcome to the Friends of the CWB website.  Currently the Harper government has made it their mandate to dismantle the Canadian Wheat Board due to ideological beliefs. They wish to pass a bill in the upcoming year which will effectively end the Canadian Wheat Board's pro-farmer monopoly.  We believe this will not benefit farmers or the Canadian public.  We believe this is unlawful. It should be up to Canadian farmers to decide the state of the CWB. This is why we as farmers are taking the Canadian government to court.
